Privacy Policy
I've noticed that the longer a privacy policy is, the less privacy you actually have. So I'm going to keep mine short. If you have any concerns or complaints about this, you can reach me on Discord (be sure to read their privacy policy!).
Bot
The Channel Stonks bot collects and stores the Discord user IDs (called "snowflakes") of everyone who interacts with the bot. This is essential to the bot's operation. These snowflakes are also not intended to be secret; anyone using the Discord client can enable developer mode and right-click on a user to find their ID. It also collects snowflakes for servers the bot is invited to, and channels in those servers. The bot counts messages sent in channels but multiplies that count by server-specific settings to get the channel's "revenue". Daily revenue data is aggregate and kept indefinitely. The amounts stored don't necessarily correlate to the number of messages sent, since the players can change their settings at any time. The bot does not store usernames, server names or channel names. When you purchase Premium, you get Premium. This is represented as an expiry date on your Discord account's Channel Stonks profile. Which, again, is nothing more than a snowflake ID and a couple aggregate stats.
Website (channelstonks.com)
The website stores absolutely nothing. There is no Javascript on the site at all. It can technically see your IP address and HTTP headers (this is true of all websites), but I don't store this information or even check it. I don't care about your data, and I don't want your data. I am proud that I built this site without Javascript, and I think more developers should think like me. If they did, the internet wouldn't be the pile of dogshit that it's become.
Upgrade.chat Storefront
I sell upgrades to the bot ("Premium") on Upgrade.chat. Any action you take on their website is subject to their own terms of service and privacy policy. The only data I collect from purchases is a snowflake ID so I can update your Channel Stonks profile with the new Premium expiry date.
Contact Information
I used to offer an email address but all I get is spam. Join the support Discord server and get in touch with me there (@computerology). If you don't agree to Discord's TOS and privacy policy, I have to wonder why you're even reading the privacy policy of a Discord bot in the first place.
